Wow January has gone so fast! We’re near the end of the month already and it’s about time for another update. As you can see from our Events section, we’re getting ready to show our products and services to the world and make the MagMe name known! We’ll talk about our upcoming events in more details in another posting. Back to the reader, we’ve got the zoom-in setting, uploading function, sign-up form and commenting section all done this month and will be working on a number of things; including the all important tracking system, tagging and embedding system and reader customization feature just to name a few for the next couple of months or so.

We’re also creating an awesome user guide to make what we do even clearer for our readers and publishing partners. On top of that, we’re adding more informational tab to the website for easier navigation and information search. We’ve also got some really good constructive feedback from our publishing partners regarding the MagMe reader’s design and functionality – so we’ll be working hard to incorporate all the feedback to make sure we produce the best one there is.

So that is it for this edition of updates The tech team are busy programming, designing and coding while the rest of us here are running around closing deals, conversing with publishers and organizing plenty of media and promotional activities for the year ahead! As always, stay tuned for more news!

I know what you're thinking if you're a Publisher - “All these interactive features are lovely and all, but how exactly is all of this going to help me make money? Because right now, the internet ain't exactly helping my bottom line.”

I know what you’re thinking if you’re a Publisher – “All these interactive features are lovely and all, but how exactly is all of this going to help me make money? Because right now, the internet ain’t exactly helping my bottom line.” And the answer is Interactive Advertisement Links (IALs). It’s really pretty simple really for publishers to add these links directly in our system, but they’ll revolutionize the way that your readers interact with your publication. Imagine if an Ad for a movie in your magazine had the trailer attached a videoclip, and when a reader moved their cursor over the Ad, a bubble pops up offering to let them view the trailer. Or imagine a new band trying to promote their work could attach an audioclip of one of their new hit songs. But most importantly, imagine if your readers could click on an Ad for a given product, and they are redirected to the Advertisers shopping page where they can purchase the product directly – this alone will massively increase your Ad conversion rate, and it can be tracked precisely through our metrics tracking, which you can access anywhere at any time.
IALs are going to revolutionize the publishing industry and we at MagMe are happy to invite you to join us at the forefront of this Brave New Publishing World.

So why is it that we’re trying to create a new reading experience. Well, when you buy a book or magazine, you have a tendency to read it, then discuss articles with your friends, or lend it to them with a recommendation that they should read it. And we think you should be able to do the same with your digital magazines online. So we’re creating a social reading platform. Now, to be sure, everyone and anyone can go to the site and read our magazines without signing in or even registering with us. But if you want to be able to interact with friends and family, then once you sign in you’ll have access to your own personal library of favorite titles and issues, and you’ll have the ability to post comments on every single individual article, to discuss full issues with friends, relatives or complete strangers who happen to share your reading interests. In addition you’ll be able to share them around by recommending a given issue or article to anyone else. We think that you’ll find our interactive services are second to none, and help make your reading experience far more interactive and enjoyable.

After 2 months of intense work behind the scenes, we’ve got an update for all of our fans and readers out there. The initial screenshots for the reader and library are now available. Take a peek, and tell us what you think. Just as a quick way to differentiate ourselves from the competition, all of our basic reader services are free for publishers to use, our pages smoothly slide to the right and left in under 0.75 seconds rather than flip, and our layout is crisp and clean to keep our branding to a minimum.
